29 days and I'll be a wife!!

Hi all.
I’m still alive – and I’m getting married in 4 weeks and 1 day!

Things are going well for the most part – my bachelorette party is tomorrow!  We’re having the party at my house, so I’ve been frantically trying to get our house in order – which… when you’re planning a wedding is not an easy thing to do.  There is stuff all over the place.  Especially after having 2 bridal showers already too!  I’ve got a bathroom to clean tonight and a main floor to vacuum… other than that, I’m all set!

One of the main reasons I mention being frantic… I’ve had 2 migraines this week. L
One came on Sunday, 10am.  As I was eating breakfast, I started to have blind spots… which is my normal onset of a migraine… I few hours later we had my niece, Cayden’s, 3rd birthday party (crazy she is already 3, eh?!)… so … as you can imagine, that was rough.
The other migraine was on Wednesday morning.  I woke up at my normal time and I was eating breakfast, when the blind spots hit again.  I told Steve that either my eyes are not yet awake or I’m getting another migraine.  I wish my eyes had been sleepy still… I ended up staying home from work on Wednesday with a pretty killer headache.  I wasn't very good either, while I should have been resting, I spent too many hours at our desktop computer getting our wedding playlists set up.  Shame on me.

Enough negative.

Oh wait… one more thing –
Our final date to RSVP was on May 1st.  It blows my mind how many people didn’t RSVP.  Then when we contact them, a lot of them are saying no… so it’s almost like they expect us to know they are not coming based on the fact that they didn’t RSVP?  Boggles my mind, I tell ya.
However, some people are saying yes … which doesn’t really agree with that theory.  We gave people 2 months to get the RSVP in, and it was easy to do – they either go online and do it or call me and let me know.  Simple, right?
So, needless to say, we’re still tracking people down to find out if they are coming and if we have to feed them.  Oy vey.

Other than that the wedding planning is going brilliantly.  I’d say I’m pretty well ready.  I had my final dress fitting this week (a day that I didn’t have a migraine), that was fun because I was able to finalize my jewelry as well!
What else…?

Got any questions about the wedding?  Ask them in the comments and I’ll try to answer them all.  I talk so much about the wedding in real life that I no longer know what people want to know and what I’m just blabbing about!

It’s amazing how much goes into planning a wedding and how much the price of something can SKYROCKET because it is for a wedding.

Ok, ok… that’s all I've got for this morning.

How is everyone?  I miss my blogging friends (I’ll be honest; I've been a BAD bloggy reader as of late!).

Random v.10.3

I finished the February Photo Hunt, see that HERE; missed a couple, but I'm overall pretty happy with what I ended up with.
I've also won the opportunity to guest judge.  Kristi generally goes through all the entries (on her own) and picks out all her favorites, then posts them in a new post for judging.  As you can imagine, that becomes a lot of work in a short period of time.  So she asked if anyone would like to help.... obviously I wanted to.  She drew names and mine was picked, so now it's going to be Kristi and 3 guest judges who are pulling favorites for voting.  Not only is it exciting to be a part of it on a different level, but as a friend to Kristi outside the blogging world, it's nice to be able to help her out!

Guess who got a migraine on Friday...??  Yup, me :(
Oh wait.... guess who got another migraine on Monday... ??  Yup, me.
Pretty lame huh?  2 migraines within 4 days of each other, and 3 within 3 weeks.  I tried taking the meds like I'm supposed to, again, and they seem to help a lot with the pain (as they should) but they just make me feel awful in so many other ways!  Yesterday, after taking a bunch of drugs at work, trying to stick the day out so I don't have to use vacation time, I ended up feeling so high - like I was on the real drugs... real meaning the illegal kind. I had to resort to doing pretty mindless work for fear I'd screw something more serious up (like payroll)!  I was just completely out of it, my body was so tingly, my mouth was dry, my mind was confused... I don't know what's worse: the migraine or the side effects of the meds.  I'm pretty sure these last 2 are because of a new medication I'm on... so I talked to the doctor yesterday and she said it's my choice to stay on or go off.  Generally your body takes 3 months to adjust to new meds... so these migraines could be my body saying 'hey, you keep giving me this chemical that I'm not used to... I need to try and kick it' - So I'm going to take it easy and see how the next week goes... if I get another, I'm off the meds, if I make it, then I'll take it one week at a time after that and decide from there.  Sure does suck though...

This past weekend Steve and I went to Duluth for a couple nights.  There was a surprise birthday party on Saturday night that we planned to attend and decided why not make a weekend of it.  We were able to hit up a few State parks while we were up there.  The weather was absolutely beautiful, especially for Duluth!  I'll post a few photos here for you in a second, but first I would just like to mention that while in Duluth, we drove over to Wisconsin... to get a malt (yep, that's right)... and upon walking into the Bridgeman's/Embers establishment (which was set inside a one level shopping mall) we were quickly surrounded by a heavy cloud of smoke.  YUCK!  I've always had ill feelings towards Wisconsin for football reasons, but I had no idea they still allowed smoking inside of places.  Ugh, I just wanted to vomit; we seriously couldn't get out of that place fast enough.  On top of that, our malts were sub-par and we saw Packers yard ornaments while driving there... all around bad (bad) experience.  Dear Wisconsin: ban smoking!
Enjoy these photos:

I'm {not} as tough as I think...

I'm a tough girl, sure.  We all are, right?  In our own little way...

Sometimes I'm not as tough as I think and it's about time I said that out loud.  So there... I've said it.

I woke up this morning with yet another fucking migraine.  Forgive the language but I'm so over these things!  They just piss me off.  I'm so helpless when they hit and that is not something I like to feel, obviously.  I felt it while I was laying there and my alarm was going off.  My head was sensitive.  FUCK.

I continue to get ready anyways, not knowing what stage this migraine was at... not knowing if the blindness had come and gone or if it was going to happen at all.  Not knowing if it was going to last all day or if it was almost gone already.  I call my carpool and tell them I'm driving myself this day, just to be safe.  Get in my car and drive to work, practically in tears the whole time.
Just about 3 minutes before I get to work I start to lose vision... neat.

I get into work, try (and I use that word extremely loosely) to do some things - 110% useless.  The office had been cleaned last night and the smells were making me feel like I was going to be sick.  I made about 7 trips into the bathroom at work in the hour and 40 minutes I was there... some to cry, some to try and vomit... some to just sit in the dark.

Now, here I sit, after 6pm, still with full blow migraine.  Cool, huh?

It's completely frustrating.  It's so fucking stupid.  I hate my head.  I can try to muscle through them... but who am I kidding; they have complete control over me.  I'm nothing with a migraine.  ugh.  Yet another chapter...

So... please, go ahead, insert cyber hug here.

Random - Vol. 9.16

Sometimes do you just wake up and want to die?  That was me today - I was blessed with a migraine.  awesome.
NOT!
I'm not sure when it happened, but I woke up right after 4am with a pounding head, confused thinking I had to wake up in a few minutes I laid there angry.  After about 30 seconds I thought... wait, I still have 40 minutes to sleep and went right back to sleep.  It's 830am and I'm still suffering with a horrible headache and nausea - though I feel as if it may be getting a bit better.  Whatever.  I don't want to talk about it.

I'm way behind on a lot of my TV shows (thank God for Tivo), which is fine because I have all winter to watch them.  The other day I watched the first episode of Nip/Tuck's sixth season and I think this could be the year I give up on that show.  I've religiously watched every season of Nip/Tuck, and slowly fell in love with it - last year I had a hard time continuing but I stuck it out.  This year, after the first episode I feel bored.  I will watch a few more to see; it seems a shame to give up on a show I've dedicated so much of my life to.  Anyone else watch Nip/Tuck?
Another show that I'm completely in love with is The Office - this season is redeeming any unfunny episodes from last season.  How funny is that show; seriously!?  Having Friday's off allows me to keep up on The Office - it's generally the first thing I watch on Friday mornings.

October is over and so means I've finished yet another Photo Scavenger Hunt - Click HERE to see my finished hunt, and click HERE to see the list of entries.  It's amazing to me what people come up with for these items, sometimes I feel like I put way too much thought into them.  I do enjoy them though, and I'm thinking of making up my own list for November... just to give me something to do and focus on.  I love my new lens and I'm actually learning a lot just by having it.  Silly how once something clicks... it really clicks, all thanks to a lens.
Anyhow - Kristi will be going through and posting her favorites from each category, I'll try to remember to post again once voting has started, or as it's going on... in case you want to go look through the 'best in show'.
**quick little side note about my scavenger hunt, for my loyal readers: my contrast picture is a quarter doughnut, with sprinkles on it.  Here is the original:

Pretty neat what a simply process in Photoshop can do, huh?

Does the black background of my blog hurt anyone else's eyes, or is it just mine?

I've joined a meetup group, it's a photography group - if you're interested, sometimes they post classes for a small fee, or host meetups for specific photo shoots, etc.  HERE is that link, pass it along too if you think someone would be interested.  Joining is free.

btw - GO Vikings (even though we're on a bye week) and Go Phillies!

Happy Tuesday.

Random - Vol. 9.15

Sometimes I just want to live a day and know what to expect... but what fun would that be, right?

So this past Friday, my day off, was supposed to be spent relaxing, because afterall it is a day off, right?!  Well last week Steve had news of a death in his family, the wake was set for Friday evening and the funeral was on Saturday.  He and I were RSVP'd to a wedding on Saturday, so he decided to attend the wake Friday night... turns out the wake and funeral were being held 4 hours away.  As his girlfriend I reserve the right to be able to say that I didn't want him driving all that way alone (there and back in ~10 hours, with 8 of it being on the road) - so I imposed and told him I'd be happy to keep him company for the drive.  He agreed to let me come. :)
Well... my Friday started out fine - nothing special, just another day really.  Upon arriving at Steve's apartment around 1:45 in the afternoon I felt like I looked right at the sun... you know, where you have this annoying spot in your vision?  I traced back to the moment I got out of my car and didn't remember looking at any lights and the sun wasn't out so that couldn't be it!  I told Steve "either I looked at a light and don't remember it or I'm about to get a migraine"...
ugh.

You can guess where the story goes next -
entering a 4 hour drive I try to play it off as no big deal as far as Steve is concerned, he was mourning the death of a loved one, and I knew I'd be fine, eventually.  He knew I wasn't alright and kept asking if I was.  For about the first 30 minutes of the drive I was dealing with blind spots, then the headache set in :(
I felt nauseous and had a pretty dull annoying constant pain in my head and every now and then... just when I wasn't expecting it, there would be a super sharp intense pain shooting through my head.  My own mini-hell.
I'm absolutely 100% convinced that my migraines are menstrual  - the last migraine I got was right at the end of my cycle and this one was almost the same day, this month.  Ironic.  Unfortunately for me, they were back-to-back months.
The fortunate of this story is that the pain of it went away before we arrived at the wake.  So I was able to be a normal person around Steve's family during their time of loss.  I still suffered the 'aftershock' of my migraine the rest of the night and a little bit the next day - just those annoying pains when I'd cough, laugh, bend over, etc.  - in all and in comparison, it was one of the more mild migraines I've had, still doesn't mean it was good though.  Hopefully I won't be posting an update next month...

A few real randoms:
I had a dream about the Subway system in New York (your average dream of robots chasing you down 20 flights of stairs deep underground in the NYC Subway system...) - ever since then I can't stop thinking about New York and how badly I want to go there.  SO much to see... so much I haven't seen in my many trips there.

I'm going to see Saw 6 tomorrow night; I've heard its full of gore... not excited.
I went to Trail of Terror last Thursday; not as bad as last year, but I was pretty freaked out through the maze part of it.  This was my last year going to anything like that.

My car whistles ever since running over a dead deer.

I love my dad and I get to see him tonight!  Steve and I are going up there after work for his special and apparently wonderfully delicious ribs!  I'm so excited I'm bouncing in my seat at work :)

John Mayer's voice is amazing to me.  "Your Body is A Wonderland" could be one of the sexiest songs ever written.  I'm not late discovering it, I'm just now saying it.

Brett Favre and his Vikings found their first loss yesterday - makes me sad, but don't worry - it's not Brett's fault.

I danced my little (or big) butt off at the wedding Saturday, and I'm feeling it today.  I also got extremely drunk at the wedding on Saturday, but I felt that yesterday, so no worries!

buh-bye.

Migraines Hurt

It always is a sad day when I have to take the time to write because I have something I want to track.  If you follow this link, you'll find all the blogs I've written to keep some sort of history on my battle with migraines.  I'm super luck that I'm not writing these blogs daily, weekly, or even monthly.  The last time I had to do this was August of 2008 - over a year ago.  You won't find me complaining... much.

So let me record my story, feel free to read if you'd like, but please don't feel obligated as this is strictly my own informative history.

Yesterday, Thursday, I get to work at 6am on the button.  I do a few things around the office,  fill my coffee mug, and grab a spoon for my yogurt and go sit at my desk.  As I'm sitting there eating my yogurt and starting into my work for the day I start to have some blurry vision - now this isn't extremely alarming as it was early and sometimes I just don't wake up that fast, so I rub my eyes and try to refocus.  I still can't see very well and it seems to be getting worse... crap I think.  The last thing I want is a migraine.
Well as it went on the vision got worse and my head started to hurt a little bit.  The pain is pretty intense so I did shed a tear or two as the sharp pains went ripping and roaring through my head.  Shortly after this started Jayne came in for the day and I told her right away what was going on.  She looked at my pupils and said they look really small (which may explain why I can't see?) - and she told me to just hang out and see how it goes.  My vision slowly started to return and Jayne suggested I go lay in my car as it was still dark and it might help my eyes a bit.  So I did, I went out there for about 15 minutes, then I could see again.  So I go back in work with a throbbing headache and figure I have to get somethings done before my week is over, luckily it wasn't anything super time consuming.  I start in on my work making sure everyone knows I'll be leaving once I have these few things done.  My head is killing me and the lights and noises of my job are NOT helping.

Right as I'm wrapping up my vision starts to go again... WTF?!  So I sit there, make a call to Walgreen's to have them check the instructions on prescription, and just wait.  I have 2 different kinds of medicine: a quick dissolve tablet and a capsule.  I took one of each and waited a few minutes.  At that point I couldn't stand being in the office anymore and my vision was on it's way back in, so I talk to Jayne and Bob (who play work mom and dad when things happen to me), and tell them I'm starting to see again and I'm going to go sit in my car until my vision is perfect then drive home.  They were trying to figure a way to get me home and I didn't want to trouble anybody, let alone leave my car at work.  I could get myself home just fine (stubborn huh?).

It's time to drive.  Start the car and go, the drive home was ok, I could see but had some nausea going on (which is a new feeling for me).  I get home and lay down right away.  I sleep for about 2 hours and wake up feeling pretty crappy.  Sore, tired, headache... I lay around for a bit - lost vision again, had some numb limbs, nausea persisted, etc.  I took another nap... blah blah.

My sweetie brought me some food because I hadn't had anything to eat since the yogurt; I was barely able to eat any soup but managed to finally get it all down and I skipped the sandwich altogether.  We also went to pick up a Mt. Dew, my dad suggested caffeine and I thought it was probably a good idea as I didn't have but a half cup while I was at work.  I took a pill before dinner and one during - slowly I was starting to feel better.

I went to bed still with a sore head but feeling a lot better than I had all day.  I had to wake up and clean my gma's apt this morning, and I felt pretty good when I woke up.  As I moved things hurt more, bending over to pick something up, sneezing... not very cool.  I continue to feel better as the day goes on, still very tired, but feeling better, which is a good thing.

Overall, this was the worst and longest migraine I've had to date - and I just pray they aren't going to continue to get worse.  I guess if I only have to deal with them once a year I can manage ... but really don't want to!

I think that about covers it... not very detailed recored keeping as it was pretty much just a crappy day all day long :(

Migraine Wars; I have yet to win.

I don't really have a whole lot to say today.

I want to write about my migraine this weekend, just so I can have some sort of blog history of these stupid things.
It started on Thursday night, I was at home working on a banner for this blog and burning CDs. All of the sudden my vision started to go blurry in my right eye, I was instantly flashed back to last June when I had my first migraine. I knew what was coming next. So as I still can't fully see out of that eye, my right arm starts to go numb, from my fingertips and slowly working upwards. Then, right side of my face goes numb, including my tongue (which was a flash back of the dentist the other week). Anyhow, I never got the full blown migraine headache, but my head was very sore all of the sudden. I woke up Friday morning and felt just ok... very groggy but ok. Then I learned as my day went on that coughing, laughing, sneezing, and bending over all hurt like a mo-fo. Those are pretty typical things for me the day after a migraine, my head always gets extra sore the next day. Anyhow, I had dinner plans on Friday and I didn't really want to be dealing with this, so I decided a nap was in order (which ended up being 2 hours) and as I got ready I decided I need to take some of my medication, so that my night should not have any problems. As it turns out I should have read the bottle before I took those pills and went cock-tailing - I was wasted from an amount of alcohol that normally would barely give me a buzz, and I mean WASTED!
I probably should have made it a point to get some good sleep that night, but the other option was just too much fun to pass up, so I ended up getting roughly about 4.5 hours of sleep. I woke up with a throbbing head, wasn't sure if it was from the alcohol or the migraine still.
My weekend was very full and I really couldn't and didn't want to bail on any of my plans, so I got moving on Saturday after relaxing a little bit in the morning. I made my way down NE to meet up with DP for the Twins game, head feeling pretty alright. As we are sitting at the game, I decided beer was just not an option, and mid-way through the game my head starts to hurt again. At this point I'm pretty sick of this stupid head crap, but I suck it up and deal with it (I had no medication with me because I don't bring my purse to games). It fades in and out the rest of the game.
After the game I had to meet up with the girls for our night out, so I hook up with Pam first, and we get ready together... I took some meds while getting ready and decided not to have more than a couple beers that night. While I was waiting for the meds to kick in I started to feel a bit of nausea, like I could puke but I was pretty sure I wasn't going to. That night turned out to be a horrible night for other reasons, but my head felt fine and I didn't get wasted!
I woke up Sunday feeling good, I slept until noon, which I never do anymore. I figure it was from lack of sleep the night before and these damn headaches are super mentally exhausting. I actually felt great all day Sunday, so I thought it was over.

I woke up today and was unbelievably tired, I'm sure from the entire weekend and not getting to bed on time last night, but my head didn't hurt. I figured another day without headache was a great sign... until this afternoon rolled around. It could be from lack of sleep, but I have the nausea back, so I'm thinking it's more than that. I had my hair up this morning and I've found during these headaches that having it up makes my head hurt more, so I took it down but it's not helping all that much.

I have plans to go to the Twins game tonight and I have no intention of bailing, though it would be smart to pass it up. It also means another night of less sleep than I am used to. All in all, I am not looking forward to my tomorrow and I have to be smart tomorrow :(

Very strange, it seems like all of these migraines have been quite different for me. First was full blown (blind spots, numbness, horrible headache), another was light sensitive (no blind spots, no numbness, but light caused pain), this time I never really got the full headache, but had a lot of the symptoms, the newest being nausea.

FYI-
I need to go through and tag my myspace blogs, so for those who have subscribed via feed, I'm pretty sure it's going to mess up the order for you (i think it alerts when changes are made), just FYI.. they aren't new blogs, just tags added to old ones.

update

So, update on my head.
I've still been getting headaches almost everyday, midday, but I take Excedrin migraine and it goes away. They haven't been getting worse, and they've been better then they were last week.
I told myself that I'd give it a week off the pill (which is today) and see how I feel, then if I still wasn't feeling better by Monday I'd call and make another appointment and see what the doctor wants to do.
Today... NO HEADACHE!!!

So lets hope they stay away through the weekend and that they go away for the rest of my life.

by the way... got to almost 100 degrees today... global warming anyone? lol.

update/thoughts/movie reviews

update on my head... Thursday was my first full day off medication and I felt OK, my head hurt that day, but I took something and it actually helped for once. Thursday night I felt GREAT! Like I was back to normal for the first time in a week!!!!
Friday was even better... woke up feeling like myself, a little tired, but normal. The whole day was great!! no headache... not even a sign of one. YAY!
Saturday I woke up with a headache and it continued on most all of the day. I finally gave in and took something and it helped for the rest of the night.
Yesterday (Sunday) I woke up feeling pretty normal, but I spent all of my day cleaning and running errands, so I had kind of a wave of headaches, none lasting too long, but when they were there; they were intense! I chalk it up to cleaning, doing lots of bending over and fast moving... things that I really hadn't been doing much of over the past week. Also, I can't imagine that all the medication of the pill is out of my body yet anyhow.. so some of this weekend has to be attributed to that.
Today... I feel ok. I'm tried, like abnormally tired for a work day. I can feel a headache in the works, pretty sure I'm going to take something to stop it dead in it's tracks.

On a separate note:
Did anyone hear about Paris Hilton going back to jail?
That was a trick question... if you didn't hear about it you shouldn't even have the technology to be reading this blog because you live under a fricken ROCK!
I have a theory about this... anyone notice how Paris had not been talked about much in the past few months? Well I heard something on the radio that the media was testing the public on our obsession with Paris. They were intentionally not covering her life to see if anyone cared; no one did.
This weekend was the premiere of the newest season of The Simple Life; isn't it ironic that Paris also got out of jail and went back to jail just before said premiere?
You'll see this happen a lot in the celebrity world.... if you pay attention. Usually an actor or singer will generally get into some sort of trouble (since planting a tree doesn't make front page news) to get their name out there.. that way when you hear that their movie/album is dropping, you'll remember that you want to see/hear it. Start paying attention; you'll notice.

I'm curious to hear thoughts on the finale of The Sopranos. The radio this morning said it was quite disappointing. anyone agree?
Personally, I've never watched an episode (don't have HBO), but I've been thinking of Netflixing it, from Season 1... It would mean giving up my summer though (cause I'm sure once I started I wouldn't be able to stop).. and I've already got a summer addiction (Big Brother) that I will be feeding. Is it possible to have 2 addictions? I guess it depends how badly my friends and family want to see me this summer.... no bar, no Twins games, no travel, no bonfires, no lakes, no exercise... (well, I suppose I could take my laptop to the gym and while traveling); I think you get my point.
Thoughts? Is it worth netflixing?

Some movie reviews:
Knocked Up Grade: A++
This could be the "it" movie of the summer!! I have NOTHING but good things to say; I laughed soooo hard!!! Keep in mind, the reviews say "If you liked The 40 Year Old Virgin, you'll love this movie"; that is a very accurate statement! If you didn't like that movie, you will feel the same about this one!
Personally, I love both... some of the stuff they say and do.. HILARIOUS! It's about a girl who has a one night stand (with kind of a loser) and gets 'knocked up', they try to make it work and basically the movie tracks that story.
Highly recommended, only if you have a good sense of humor!!

Oceans Thirteen Grade: B
I am a HUGE fan of the casting in these movies... from Oceans Eleven up til now they have kept the originals and that is what counts! George, Brad and Matt are just so much fun together... I'd like to know them in real life... what a hoot!
I graded this movie "B", because while it was above average in my book, you can only make so many sequels and have them remain of good quality and story. This was not as good as the first, but it's wasn't as bad as the third installment of Pirates that I had to sit through!! I can't see them going into an Oceans Fourteen, and if they do it will be a stretch in the lines of a story.
I can't really tell too much of what the story is about because the Oceans movies tend to have twists and turns that you don't see coming. Basically the group gets back together for another heist... back in Vegas.

So, I have a lot of work to do, and I've been trying to do it in between typing this blog... but I just have to wrap this up now; can't do both I guess!
I really hope I covered everything I wanted to. I felt like I had a lot to blog about!

Dr. Visit 6/6/07

I wish that myspace blogs had more "Category" topics.

So for those of you that are dying to know... I went to the Dr. yesterday, and it was a very informational experience for me! I feel that is a great thing...

Without diving too far into my medical history and disclosing everything about me that you probably don't care about....
4 days before I had all of my symptoms I had started a new birth control pill, the doctor yesterday told me that I should go off of that and see how I feel. Remember science class? Everything was about changing one variable at a time... so that is where we are starting. He felt like my symptoms were that of a migraine, and could easily be caused by the pill. If I don't see a change in the pain in a day or two, I have a Rx for a mild dose of imitrex to get filled. After I try that, if the pain persists I need to go in for a CAT scan.
I am hoping that going off the pill will cure everything.
The good news of all of that is all of my symptoms can absolutely be related to migraines and there is no need to worry of stroke.

I have an appointment with an endocrinologist in July to deal with other things going on with me (the reason I was put on the pill to begin with), so hopefully they can find something that is right for me to take care of the other stuff.

Doctor said that if I do just have migraines I may have to become a label reader and see if there are certain foods that trigger them.
One step at a time though... for now off the pill for me!

Thank you all for your thoughts and kind words... it helps to have so many people around in a time of concern!
Love you all!

I'll post more if there is any changes.

my head

so... my head still hurts.

i've heard from enough people that i need to go see a doctor... just wanted to let people know that I've made a doctors appointment for tomorrow (wednesday), in the afternoon.

yesterday

Below is copied text from an email i sent yesterday telling a friend what happened to me. Keep in mind, this all happened yesterday. I'm fine now, but I thought I would share my story with anyone who cares to read it.
I feel slightly off kilter today; but I think I'm more "shook up" about it then actually still having symptoms.

Today, around 1:45pm something started to happen to me. All of the sudden my peripheral vision in my left eye was gone. I thought maybe I'm just having a dizzy spell and it will be fine. That slowly started to move into the front of my eye and I started to develop a headache behind my right eye. I wasn't completely blind out of the left eye, I just had blind spots… for example; I was looking at Bob and I couldn't see his eyeballs, but I could see the frames of his glasses. Very strange.

Bob went online and looked up migraine symptoms and said that blind spots are pert of it, so I took some Excedrin Migraine and figured that would help. After a few minutes, I called my dad because he gets them too, and I wanted to know what happens to him. Most everything that was happening to me had happened to him with migraines. We got off the phone; I figured that would be the end of it.

So my vision was SLOWLY started to get back to normal, but all of the sudden my left hand was going numb from my fingertips up to my elbow… I could actually feel it crawling up. That slowly started to fade and the next thing I know my left cheek and left side of my mouth are numb and my headache is growing to the whole right side of my head! As I am telling Bob everything that I am going through he keeps looking things up online, well he didn't see anything about numbness, so he said he was going to take me in. I didn't want to go, but he and Chuck gave me no choice.

After being admitted into the ER (with a bracelet and all) and telling my story to many people, the doctor said it sounded like a migraine and that they would give me a shot and that should fix it. During my wait for the doctor, my dad showed up because Chuck had called him, so it was nice to have someone there with me; I didn't end up getting out of the ER until 5:30pm. The shot didn't seem to help the headache all that much, and by the time the doctor came in my vision was back to normal and nothing was numb anymore. I still can't move very fast without my head throbbing, and bending over is for sure a NO-GO!

Pretty much the single scariest thing that has happened to me… that I can recall. I thought something was seriously wrong when my vision started to do that… not fun.
