Random v.10.3

I finished the February Photo Hunt, see that HERE; missed a couple, but I'm overall pretty happy with what I ended up with.
I've also won the opportunity to guest judge.  Kristi generally goes through all the entries (on her own) and picks out all her favorites, then posts them in a new post for judging.  As you can imagine, that becomes a lot of work in a short period of time.  So she asked if anyone would like to help.... obviously I wanted to.  She drew names and mine was picked, so now it's going to be Kristi and 3 guest judges who are pulling favorites for voting.  Not only is it exciting to be a part of it on a different level, but as a friend to Kristi outside the blogging world, it's nice to be able to help her out!

Guess who got a migraine on Friday...??  Yup, me :(
Oh wait.... guess who got another migraine on Monday... ??  Yup, me.
Pretty lame huh?  2 migraines within 4 days of each other, and 3 within 3 weeks.  I tried taking the meds like I'm supposed to, again, and they seem to help a lot with the pain (as they should) but they just make me feel awful in so many other ways!  Yesterday, after taking a bunch of drugs at work, trying to stick the day out so I don't have to use vacation time, I ended up feeling so high - like I was on the real drugs... real meaning the illegal kind. I had to resort to doing pretty mindless work for fear I'd screw something more serious up (like payroll)!  I was just completely out of it, my body was so tingly, my mouth was dry, my mind was confused... I don't know what's worse: the migraine or the side effects of the meds.  I'm pretty sure these last 2 are because of a new medication I'm on... so I talked to the doctor yesterday and she said it's my choice to stay on or go off.  Generally your body takes 3 months to adjust to new meds... so these migraines could be my body saying 'hey, you keep giving me this chemical that I'm not used to... I need to try and kick it' - So I'm going to take it easy and see how the next week goes... if I get another, I'm off the meds, if I make it, then I'll take it one week at a time after that and decide from there.  Sure does suck though...

This past weekend Steve and I went to Duluth for a couple nights.  There was a surprise birthday party on Saturday night that we planned to attend and decided why not make a weekend of it.  We were able to hit up a few State parks while we were up there.  The weather was absolutely beautiful, especially for Duluth!  I'll post a few photos here for you in a second, but first I would just like to mention that while in Duluth, we drove over to Wisconsin... to get a malt (yep, that's right)... and upon walking into the Bridgeman's/Embers establishment (which was set inside a one level shopping mall) we were quickly surrounded by a heavy cloud of smoke.  YUCK!  I've always had ill feelings towards Wisconsin for football reasons, but I had no idea they still allowed smoking inside of places.  Ugh, I just wanted to vomit; we seriously couldn't get out of that place fast enough.  On top of that, our malts were sub-par and we saw Packers yard ornaments while driving there... all around bad (bad) experience.  Dear Wisconsin: ban smoking!
Enjoy these photos:

Oh I so love Duluth, that place makes me so happy! Dustin and I always stay at a place right next to the lift bridge which is so much fun.

I'm sorry about your migraines. I used to get them all the time when I was younger. They're no fun at all and I hope you can figure something out soon to get rid of them!
