I'm Versatile

Apparently, according to Harley, I'm Versatile.  If you haven't checked out her blog, now would be a good time - she's Irish, lives in Ireland - and is currently in the process of blogging about her recent vacation (or Holiday) to Florida.  She hits on some of the American stereo-types and voices her opinion of us.  She's way too cute to be pissed at, and.. well... she's mostly right, we do have a McDonald's on every corner.

Thanks for the award, Harley!

The Rules:
1. Thank and link back to the blogger who kindly gave you this award
2. Write 7 random facts about yourself
3. Pass this award along to a few other fellow bloggers

1. Done.
2. I like to have all my bathroom towels folded neatly the same way and then stacked nicely (boyfriend just learned this about me), I'm a lefty, My middle name is Hope, I'm in the process of setting up Google Voice on my phone - I've already created a new number, after reading a bit about couponing - I'm scared shitless to learn the 'art', I love my new home, I check my bank account online at least once a day - if not multiple times.

Random v10.5

  • So I read a sign yesterday that said "If love is blind, why is lingerie so popular?"  It made me laugh... oh so true!
  • HaHa!  Since my blog title has the word sushi in it, you might expect that I blog about sushi often, right?  Not even close, I usually eat it before I have a chance to take a picture to blog with.  It'd be boring to read that I went to sushi without seeing what it looked like, right?  Well, since I rarely blog about it... let me post this link for you, because I think it's such a cute idea... Even if you've never tried sushi; everyone loves PB&J!
  • For those who love Google or for those who love personalized things... or both; do you have a Google Homepage?  Go to this link and check it out.  You can personalize a Google page just for you and then make it your home page.  For example, I have a box on there with my gmail, I have a box with People.com (as in the magazine) so I can keep up with all the celebrity deaths, I have my Google reader (bloggers this would be super neat and handy for you) which feeds all the blogs I follow, so I know when there is a new post.  I also keep local news and weather on there in addition to sports news.  It's like a one stop shop for everything I need to feed my day!  I highly (highly) recommend you at least look into it, if you don't already have one.
  • Wanna hear how bad I dropped the ball last week?  Do ya?!  Remember, in this post, how I told you that if ya don't already, ya need to start following Conan O'Brien on Twitter?  Well, round about the time I posted that, I went to his Twitter and found out that he is doing this national comedy tour thing... so I checked the schedule and, sure as shit, he is coming to Minneapolis!  So I go on and check into ticket prices, email the boyfriend, and we decide we want to go, but let's save a few bucks and go to the box office to get tickets (ticketmaster rapes you with fees, it was $20 more than face value after taxes/fees)... so I didn't have to work on Friday, I figured I'd run down to the box office and pick them up.  WELL... by the end of the night, the show was SOLD OUT.  How f'n lame is that?  I had tickets on my screen that I could have purchased... dropped. the. ball. ugh.
  • Ok, last but not least.. because I'm so f'n awesome.. I've received an award, from Krystal.
The rules for accepting this award are:
    - Put the logo on your blog or within your post
    - Pass the award onto 12 bloggers
    - Link to the nominees within your post
    - Let them know they received this award by commenting on their blog
    - Share the love & link to the person from whom you received this award

I don't get many awards, because I don't have a huge following, so it's fun to play along when I do.  However, I also don't follow that many blogs, so I don't think I'm gonna be able to come up with 12 bloggers to pass this on to :(
All these bloggers bring something sunny into my life, so, without further ado:
    JerseySjov @ A Bit Unaware
    Krysten @ After 'I Do'
    Magpie @ Dazzled By Life
    Gringa @ Gringation's Blog
    Kellie @ Kelleidoscope
    Dana @ My Everyday Life
    Amy @ My LaLa Land
    Kristi @ Mi Vida Ocupada

Thats all I have for you today folks - check out the blogs I just linked to.. they are pretty neat!

My {first} Award

I received my first blogging award this week... I've never much been into this type of blogging thing, but with a new year comes new experiences.  My new blogging buddy, Krysten @ After 'I Do' has given me the "Lemonade Stand Award".

Now upon reading Krysten's blog and realizing that the meaning of this award has been lost in translation, I decided to look it up.  I found that this award is to be passed to "bloggers who demonstrate great attitude and gratitude".  Quite fitting for me, I'm sure ;)
The other rule about said award is that you have to pass it on... now, I don't have a great blog community around me, but I do have some people who I feel are deserving of this award.  Rules state to pass to 10 people, but I may not give all 10 out as I only follow a few blogs.  If you are listed here, your job is to pass this award on to those you see fit to receive it.  Ready?

Kristi manages like 50 blogs (including Photo Hunt Challenges, where I do my photo hunts), teaches like 5 classes (what seems to be full time), continues to develop her photography skills, and keeps a great attitude through it all.  I've had the pleasure to know Kristi (in real life) for several years now, and she is just a great person all around.

Lovi @ Yutopia -
Lovi is a friend from High School and a mother of an adorable little girl (soon to add another, boy or girl).  The one thing I've always admired about Lovi is her positive attitude on all things.  If for nothing else, that is worthy of this award.

Terri has been a friend of mine, personally, for several years now.  She lives in AZ, so we don't see each other that often, but we sure know how to have a blast together when we do.  Terri has walked the Phoenix 3-Day 2 (or is it 3 now?) years in a row now and has been very involved in raising money in support of breast cancer awareness and research.  Walking 20 miles a day for 3 days straight is worthy of any award.  Plus, I'm hoping this will bring Terri back into the world of blogging as I miss her very much!

Dana is a blogger I had the pleasure of meeting face to face last year.  I've enjoyed following her blog for quite some time now.  The reason Dana is receiving this award today is because of her loyalty and positive attitude concerning Brett Favre joining the Vikings.  She remained a Vikings fan first and never gave up hope when the deal was being made (I, on the other hand, had a hard time with it).  Kudos Dana and SKOL VIKINGS :)

Erin and Ben @ We Got Served -
I know they probably don't follow my blog, but I follow theirs!  It's local restaurant reviews, right up my alley!  They are honest and that is all I can ask for.

Okay... Five seems like a good number to stop at :)
