Bedroom = Painted!

Want to hear how much ass I kick?  Well... Steve and I, but it's my blog, so I'm going to take ALL the credit :)

Last Friday I had plans to paint the walls, my mom was all set to come over and help.  I figured I already had the holes patched, all I needed to do before Friday was sand them... not only did I not get around to sanding, I had NO IDEA how much clean up would be involved.  So I told my mom not to come over Friday.  Instead, I had a mostly lazy day and put in a couple of hours sanding... getting it all finished in time to meet Steve for some Happy Hour drinks and appi's.  The clean up was still a bitch, and I was certain that I broke the vacuum cleaner in the process, but I got it all taken care of.

Steve and I slept in the spare bedroom Friday night as I had our room tore apart.

Saturday we got to painting... well, taping, priming, THEN painting.  On Saturday we were able to get everything primed and both blue walls painted.  We decided to take the rest of the night off and drink some drinks.

Crappy cell phone pictures of during the process...
Holes patched and sanded; before priming

One coat of primer per wall... it already looked better!
"Ready to see what this looks like on a wall?"
So that's the blue we used... it's called Sailor's Sea Blue - which is a really good name for it, because it does remind me of the sea/ocean.

So we got that whole wall done, then began on the other blue wall - which is across the room (the idea was to paint the 2 longest walls blue, and the other 2 walls white):
So these are all from my cell phone during the process... our room was tore apart and it was still pretty dusty form the sanding, so I didn't want my camera up there.

We slept in the spare room Saturday night as well.

On Sunday, we got up and went to eat with Steve's family for Mother's day, then came home and got right back into painting... this time the white walls.  2 coats later, our bedroom was fully painted.  Apparently I didn't take any cell phone pictures.

Our room was still pretty smelly and not yet put back together so, we slept in the spare room Sunday night too...

Monday night was my zumba class, so I knew I wasn't going to get the room put back together for sleeping in... I got home from work and went to town thoroughly dusting all the trim, stripping the bed, and as much other crap as I could before having to get ready and leave.  I left Steve a note telling him what I got done and what still needed to be done... when I got home from my class and dinner with the girls... our room was put back together!  It was so nice to come home and know that I was going to be sleeping in our room and in our bed again.
I had to wait another day to take pictures, because I wanted them in the sunlight, but here it is - all painted!

Now... we just need to get some stuff on the walls... :)

Isn't it nice to feel accomplished? Looks good! And your pics are great considering they were taken with your phone.

Matt is such a terrible painter, so I usually get stuck doing it myself. AND we don't have any spare rooms so we had to sleep in our room both times we painted. Yeah. Waking up high isn't a fun thing.

I LOVE that color, it's so cheerful!

We're talking about doing a couple rooms here and my mom's going to help which is AWESOME. She's a great painter =-)
