What do I sound like?

You know how when you hear your own voice on a recording and you think ugh, THAT is what I sound like?!?? Do you ever take it a step further and wonder what people think you look like based on your voice?

For example, at work, I make a lot of phone calls to schedule shipping pickups - so today when I did this the lady on the other end was very nice and we had a moment of chat while she opened the screen to schedule my pickup.  After I hung up the phone I couldn't help but think about what I sounded like to her.  There were a few jokes/jabs at our bosses and some small talk made...
Deep down I still feel like a kid - therefore I often think I sound like a kid too.  Someone who sounds like a kid shouldn't be taking jabs at her boss; should she?  I don't feel my voice is very 'adult'... HOWEVER, I've been told that my work voice is very soft and professional, once upon a time I was even told my work voice was 'sexy'.

Obviously the sexy part stuck with me and now I wonder if these people I talk to think they've called a sex hotline and they're just waiting for me to ask them what are you wearing?.

I always wonder what people on the other end of the line sound like - today's lady sounded to be in her 40's and I'm sure she was/is a smoker.  I pictured her as a ginger with wrinkly skin (from the smoking).  I also imagined her with a smoke hanging out of her mouth while she was scheduling my truck.

Just a strange thought I had this morning and was kind of curious what other people thought about it... I do understand that I'm a bit strange and sometimes have some 'odd' thoughts.  However, sometimes the things I think are 'odd' are actually common thoughts amongst my peers.

That is all for today, thanks!

Well I'll tell you that I don't think you sound like a kid at all.

I, however, feel like I ALWAYS sound younger than I am. I know that my voice tends to be pretty high and girly. Thankfully I'm just serving right now so I don't have to worry about simply being judged on my voice.

Oh my gosh, I've never thought about it but I will NOW haha

I'm ok with my voice, although it does sound a bit lower when I hear a recording of it... which is weird.

i'm another one with a bad case of baby-voice on the phone. when i try to set up appointments for myself or call places for information, i find that people are downright RUDE when they hear me, even though i'm always courteous and attempt to speak like an adult.

when i was calling around to get info about local dance studios, i had one woman reprimand me about speaking clearly when leaving my phone number on a machine. needless to say, i didn't give that business any of my money.

I hate how I sound. I really do. It's something I obviously can't really change so I just try to ignore it, if that makes sense? But I know at work I'm way too cheerful and happy... even when I'm stressed out and my day sucks balls. Someone said I should dress up as Flo from the Progressive commercials because that's basically me. SCARY.

I'm surprised every time I hear my voice on recording that I sound the way I do. I have a high voice and it sounds child-like. When I met you, I didn't picture your voice to be a high as it was. Don't take that the wrong way! It was very cute and feminine and I don't know what I was expecting. I always wonder what radio personalities look like (or even singers in a band) but I rarely look them up to see what they look like because I don't want to spoil their nice voice and put a face to it.
