The Burning Question

How do people just brush shit off that bothers them?  If you've been bothered by something or someone, how do you just let it roll off and not bug you for days... yet still act completely normal?

I wish I were better at this... I don't know how to let go when I'm pissed off.

When talking it out with a person is NOT an option (for reasons I'm not getting into right now)...

How do YOU do it?

I don't. I let it bother me and bother me and bother me.

I'm interested to see the answers, maybe they'll be helpful to me too.

Dammit was hoping that comment was going to be helpful!

If it's with someone I have to spend time with and/or think about a lot, it just goes round and round in my head. If it's anybody else or someone I can just.. retreat from, I sit down with some awesome music on loud and draw and colour until my mind is a blank.

Pretty much just do something that puts you in a great mood.

i focus on something else until what was a problem isn't a problem anymore

I act natural.

Then I complain to my husband about it for weeks until he hates the person even more than I do.

Then I obsess some more.

Then I end up being the one to apologize, and the problem gets solved haha

if i can't work it out with the other person, it will bother me for... the rest of my life, i guess. so far i haven't really come to the place where i felt fully free from things like that. i don't like loose ends. i don't like things to be unresolved. i don't like tension or misunderstanding and i don't like losing people over those things. i still miss those people and carry remorse about it all.
