Am I Weird?

There is this thing that bothers me... like bothers me to the point of wanting to stab somebody.  I wouldn't actually do it, because I often times don't carry my shank with me - but I wish that I did.

When I bring lunch to work, which is most days, it's often times leftovers.  I think leftovers are the bee's knees!  So when I heat up my food and sit at my desk to eat (so that I can play online), I get comments of oh that smells so good, what is it? or boy, that smells good.

First, I don't know what to say when someone says that smells good - why else would I be eating it dummy?  I don't eat food that tastes/smells like shit.

Second, I don't like when people talk about or look at my lunch.  It's my lunch time, and while I may have chosen to sit at my desk and eat it (and we have no walls in my office), I didn't open the lines of communication to talk about what I'm eating.  My Time.  I don't walk up to your desk or into the lunch room and stare at your food inquiring about it...

Third, why do you even want to know?  It's not like you have the same thing.  What's the point in torturing yourself with how amazing my lunch is?  I don't want to tell you.

I know this sounds odd... and I can't explain why it bothers me so much... it just does.

Am I weird?

HAHAHA yes, that is a little bit weird!

But we all have our quirks :) I panic when anyone around me is holding a knife... even a butter knife. Now who's weird? haha

My co-workers are always hating on me for my delicious food leftovers and they always want to know what goodies I have that day. Sometimes we swap recipes :)

Yes you are weird. Just kidding. I've never heard this before. This would be a good blog post to see what other weird things people do. I hate when Mr.B reads out loud. It makes me want to shank him. Lol.

haha! i don't think that's weird.

i for one never know what to say when people compliment my awesome leftover lunches. i usually end up going on and on about where i found the recipe, how much the ingredient cost, etc

LOL! You sound like me. So either we're both weird or everyone else is just dumb.

I totally understand where you're coming from however it doesn't bother me as severely as it does you. I've had people do the same thing to me as I also eat at my desk. I think it also depends on who's curious about my food. Some people are tolerable to me and others are not for whatever reason.

That's a little weird. Maybe they're just making conversation? Maybe they want to know how you made it so they can make something that smells that good at home? Either way, opening a book usually kills lunchtime conversation pretty quick, if you want to try that?

Well... maybe they want the recipe or something?

But my problem is when people go on and on and ON about the food I don't like. So when I bring a lunch and it looks all plain and lame- everyone is like, "Oh- you should add onions" or whatever and I'm like no, bitch. I hate onions. Fuck the fuck off. And I get all angsty.

I don't carry a shank but I do carry a rape whistle. Mostly because it's new and they make me laugh. I should do a whole post on the lameness around a rape whistle. But I've already blown it at Matt when he tried to get fresh with me when it was OBVIOUS I was tired. :/ He didn't see the obvious humor in that.

Maybe try just taking it as a compliment on your obvious dope cooking skills. :) Other than that, if it ignores you, put up a "bug off/my time" sign on your desk and enjoy!
